Stage three

We got up this morning, packed everything, had breakfast, prayed morning prayer, and heard Susan's reflection. It was nice to stay in the country. However, a screaming peacock kept us awake all day all night. The weather is perfect.

The area is beautiful, and we saw how much World War One ravaged the region. After 50 miles, we reached Laon, a beautiful town on top of a hill, where a wonderful 12th century Cathedral dominates the area.

The inside of the Cathedral is breath taking, displaying the best of Medeivel architecture.

After lunch, we rode another 30 miles. Churches like this dot the countryside.

Finally, we reached the Champagne Region of France. Every town and village will have a church like this one near our French B & B.

  2. The churches and cathedrals are always on my list to visit when in Europe. I am so happy you are sharing these pictures with us and that you and the group are taking the time to stop and visit or take a few pictures. Thank you! So my Sojourn begins. Prayers headed your way for continued health, good weather, and silent peacocks.
